L’Oréal Names First-Ever Chief Innovation & Prospective Officer in Bold Leadership Move
L’Oréal, the legendary French beauty and cosmetics giant, has made a major new appointment to its Executive Committee. Delphine Viguier-Hovasse has been appointed to a newly created leadership position, underscoring the Group’s ongoing commitment to spearheading forward-thinking innovation in the international beauty market.
Effective from July 1, 2025, Viguier-Hovasse will officially assume her new responsibilities, where she will be tasked with reinforcing L’Oréal’s position as a leader in beauty innovation. In her role, she will report directly to Barbara Lavernos, Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Research, Innovation & Technology.
Under her broadened remit, Delphine Viguier-Hovasse will lead L’Oréal’s current Innovation teams in addition to the Strategic Prospective Department. Her merger of these two pillars seeks to ensure a more harmonized and visionary strategy towards research, development, and scouting for emerging beauty trends and technology.
This new structure is designed to anticipate shifts in consumer behavior, societal trends, and scientific advancement—ensuring L’Oréal remains ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving global market. With an engineering background and nearly three decades of experience within the company, Viguier-Hovasse brings both strategic insight and a deep understanding of the brand’s heritage and innovation culture. She joined L’Oréal in 1997 and, in 2019, made history as the first woman to lead the L’Oréal Paris brand at a global level—driving significant growth and relevance for the brand worldwide.
Her appointment signals L’Oréal’s ongoing focus on inclusive leadership and future-oriented innovation at the highest level.
